Summer Intensive Program

August 2 - 27, 2010

The Brookline Ballet School will hold a Summer Intensive Dance Program August 2-27 (Level 2), August 16-27 (Levels 1 and 3) for young dancers ages 9-19. Our professional faculty will provide the students with an opportunity to improve their technique through a highly focused approach to their dance training. Daily classes will include Classical Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Men’s Class, Pas de Deux, Modern, Jazz, Spanish and African Dance, Pilates and Stretch class. Curriculum will be specific to student’s level placement. Upper level students will learn variations from the classical repertoire and excerpts from contemporary ballets. During the four-week program we will offer master classes taught by guest teachers of international fame, as well as Meet-the-Artist forums.

The Summer Intensive Dance Program will culminate with an in-studio performance. Students who have attended the full four weeks of the program will be eligible to participate. In addition to the classes, we will have rehearsals during the four weeks to prepare for this performance. We believe that this will be a very valuable experience for the students, and it will be an exciting way to showcase the progress the students have made.

Auditions

This program is for dancers with previous ballet experience - audition is necessary for class placement.  Please contact us at 617-879-9988 or info@brooklineballet.com to arrange an audition.  The audition fee is $15.

Class Schedule

Level 1 (ages 9-12 years)
The program for Level 1 students will run for 2 weeks, August 16-27.  Classes will be held Monday-Friday, 9:30AM - 12:00PM.

Level 2 (Intermediate)
The program for Level 2 will run for 4 weeks, August 2-27.  Students may elect to attend all 4 weeks, or a 2-week session, Aug 2-13 or 16-27. 
Classes will be held Monday-Friday, 12noon - 4:15PM

Level 3 (Advanced)
The program for Level 3 will run for 2 weeks, August 16-27.
Classes will be held Monday-Friday, 10:30 - 4:15PM

Level 2 students
2 weeks: $660
4 weeks: $1320

Level 3 students
