MAT PILATES

Body Conditioning with Peter Donohoe

Tuesday 5:00-6:00PM

Pete's body conditioning class is designed to develop dancers' strength and flexibility.  It is based on mat Pilates methods, but goes far beyond.   Enrollment in this class is limited to TBBS Youth Ballet Program students and other dancers on invitation of the Artistic Directors.  Please contact TBBS if you are interested to participate.

 

Mat Pilates at Lunchtime with Lisa Roth

Monday 12:15-1:15PM, open drop-in class (enrollment limited to 12)
Thursday 11:30AM-12:30PM, open drop-in class (enrollment limited to 12)

Based on the conditioning work of J.H. Pilates, this class works to strengthen the muscles of your "core": abdominals, obliques, and back.  We add small equipment, such as Pilates circles, bands and balls to incorporate work for the "periphery": shoulders, arms, hips and legs.  Because the muscles are being stretched and strengthened simultaneously, mat Pilates creates well-balanced bodies that are flexible and strong, without adding excess bulk.

Mat Pilates for Adults with Liz Roncka

Tuesday 6:00-7:00PM, open drop-in class (enrollment limited to 12)
Friday 6:00-7:00PM, open drop-in class (enrollment limited to 12)

A 55-minute Pilates mat class for the adult client.  This class will emphasize the development of strong core musculature, improved posture, efficient movement patterns and a deepening of the mind-body connection utilizing the Pilates method.  All levels welcome.

Mat Pilates 50+/- with Liz Roncka

Tuesday 7:00-8:00PM, open drop-in class (enrollment limited to 12)
Friday 5:00-6:00PM, open drop-in class (enrollment limited to 12)

A 55-minute Pilates mat class focused on safe and appropriate exercises for clients over 50.  This class will feature modified mat exercises to improve posture, strengthen the core muscles and maintain flexibility.  Specific attention will be given to maximizing correct form, while minimizing the stress and strain placed on the spine and joints.  Clients under the age of 50 who feel they will benefit from a modified mat class are also welcome to attend.

 

These classes are offered on an open “drop-in” basis, but since participation is limited, we encourage you to reserve your place in classes you want to attend.  Single open classes are $15, 5-class passes are $70 and 10-class passes are $130.
