Modern Dance with Tommy Neblett

Saturday 2:00-3:30 PM. FOR EXPERIENCED DANCERS ONLY!
Open class, Starting September 18, 2010

Tommy's class explores the principles, physicality and artistry of contemporary concert dance.  The course will expand the student's movement potential, body awareness and musicality.  Emphasis of instruction will be on increasing strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, speed and phrasing, through the use of proper alignment and technique.  The class is an eclectic blend of the instructor's own style with influences from Limón, Horton, Cunningham and jazz techniques.

Modern Dance for Young Dancers with Kate Bresee

Class open to girls & boys 9-14y (enrollment limited to 12 participants; drop-in if space available). Thursday 5-6PM.  Next session September 16 - December 16, 13 weeks, $260. No class Thanksgiving, November 25..

Enjoy moving!  Students learn positions from the basics of classical ballet technique combined with a contemporary, fresh approach to movement.  Coordination and creativity will be stimulated in this class.  Contemporary technique includes lyrical swings and back undulations.  Each class will begin with warm-ups and floor exercises to develop and increase students' flexibility, strength and balance.  The love of movement will be explored.  No previous experience necessary.  This class is an excellent complement to the Youth Ballet program for the younger dancers.
