AFRICAN DANCE

Introduction to African Dance with Marianne Harkless

Friday 6:00-7:30PM.  Open drop-in class for teens (12+ years) and adults.  $18

Introduction to African Dance is a class designed for teen and adult beginners who are interested in learning the basics of West African dance.  Each class will begin with a warm-up, followed by work on basic movement, coordination and style.  Live drumming will heighten the excitement and promote understanding of the relationship between the rhythm and the dance. Students should wear loose clothing and plan to be barefoot.  Women should bring a piece of material to wear around their waists as a wrap-around skirt.
